As we running towards some treks in Maharashtra we found some good trek in that Gorakhgad fort was the one which made us excite to go there and explore because of the view and nature beauty. As you can see Gorakhgad Fort is an astonishing thriller trek in Thane district of Maharashtra. This fort is located 24km from Murbad village. In old days this fort was mainly used by Sadhus or hermits by meditation and also by local people for surrounding village. This fort was mainly used to guard the routes of village. This fort was said to be one of the important fort during the rule of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.

As you can see this is the first glimpse of the trek from outside. You can say how beautiful this is by just looking at this picture. As we headed toward this trek we met some people who came from different locations just for this trek. Before heading this trek we had some refreshments and some energy bars.

"A walk in nature walks the soul back home."

We all walked with a good pace without taking any breaks. This trek was well defined without any intervention. After going continuous for a long time we had a great view from our first halt. This view was immensely beautiful.

After taking a small break we headed again. About 1hr 30min later we reached a place where we were visible to watch Ghats. This was just the beginning of the trek. Half of the people started to exhaust. We continued to move on this trek. Ghats became more visible to the top as we headed straight. After this we continued to walk straight as Gorakhgad was right in front of us. The trial was up and down without any intervention then after few minutes we enter into a deep dense jungle where the base of the fort was situated.

Finally we all reached to the base of the fort. It took almost 2hours from the start to the Gorakhgad base. There was temple of Lord Shiva. We took some refreshments then we started going up.

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

The real medium trek begins now. It is so fun to say this as the trek was so good that I can feel this by just saying. After going straight up for 5min we reached a place where we have to show our trekking and climbing skills. It was 65 degree rock path up which seemed quite difficult for us. As we started climbing it wasn’t that as difficult as it seems. In fact it was quite interesting. We were at monsoon season so the weather and view both were amazing.

As you can see in this picture 65 degree rock path and the top orange small door. That was the entrance of this fort. After continuing the rock climbing for about 30 min we finally reached at the entrance. Reaching at the entrance was as same as reaching at the top. Everyone on this trek had enjoyed Ahupe Ghat view at the entrance. The entrance is made through the mountains and steps are carved into it. As everyone started to reach the entrance one by one everyone started to taking a picture of the view and Ghat.

This is the view from the entrance. In front it is the Ahupe Ghat. After the entrance. On right side of the climb we had a beautiful view which we want to share with you. No words for this view. You can say how amazing is this by just looking at it.

“Climb mountains, not so the world can see you, but so you can see the world!”

Then we headed back to climbing. This was also a tricky climbing as before. As we completed this second tricky rock climbing we reached at plateau there was a base and some caves and some water. Water was right side of the cave. In that people again get busy at taking pictures. After taking some pictures we filled our bottle.

Then we decided to take some halt because we were exhausted by taking less breaks. After taking a halt we begin our climbing. According to the people who has completed this trek this was one of the most difficult trek in this fort.

"The best view comes after the hardest climb."

There was a small ladder which became quite helpful for us to climb. Then we started to climb upwards. As going upwards the rock cut stairs was scary and by looking down was even scary side by side it was very thriller to watch the view. In between there was a small cave to stay if there is overcrowding in trek. I was afraid while climbing to the top also thinking about descending. One by one we managed to reach at the top. Just as we reached at the top front there was a Lord Shiva temple.

Everyone started to take Pictures and videos. View is breath taking from the top. We started trek with 41 people in this only 16 people had completed this trek. After doing photos and videos we congratulated everyone for completing this trek.

In all we spent 30 minutes on top then we started descending down.Descending was scarrier than ascending as we have to watch each step while going down.At this time

people have be patient and fearless. As the view will be breathtaking. We have bags so it became more tough than we imagined. Somehow we managed to reach at base of the

plateau.

After getting down we filled our bottles took some break and headed again. As we headed down monkeys started to follow us but they didn't snatch anything.

We spend 1 hour 15 min while climbing down as it was toughest one. Finally we reached down at the temple. Then we met with our group they all were having food. We were the last to reach. Everyone was waiting for us then we had food. If you love trek this is highly recommend from our side. If you visit please don't throw plastic bottles and write anything on walls as they will destroy the beauty of fort. Thank you for your time!
